Danantara Officially Launched, a Form of Commitment to Sustainable Investment Management

Jakarta – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, today, February 24, 2025, launched the Daya Anagata Nusantara (Danantara) Investment Management Agency (BPI). This launch marks the government’s strategic step in managing national investment to support sustainable investment growth.

The President said that Danantara aims to strengthen BUMN investment with transparent, careful, and sustainable management for the benefit of future generations.

“Danantara is a strategic instrument in national development that optimizes the management of natural resources and for the benefit of future generations,” said President Prabowo.

The President added that the funds managed by Danantara come from the people, so transparency is guaranteed with openness to audits and public supervision. President Prabowo also wants Danantara to be audited at any time by anyone.

“Danantara must be managed as well as possible, very carefully, very transparently, with mutual supervision, it must be auditable at any time by anyone. This is a form of transparency and accountability,” he said.

Deputy Chairman of Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Andre Rosiade said that Danantara is the gateway for Indonesia to soon become an industrial country. The country will invest heavily in mega downstream projects in President Prabowo’s Astacita vision.

“The guarantee to open millions of jobs and drive economic growth of up to eight percent is a task to be realized by BPI Danantara with hard work and professionalism,” said Andre.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Investment and Downstream/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) who is also the Head of BPI Danantara, Rosan Roeslani said that Danantara operates separately from the Indonesia Investment Authority (INA). Assets of more than $900 billion are managed to drive Indonesia’s economic growth.

“Government share ownership in leading state-owned companies such as Bank Mandiri and Pertamina are under the management of Danantara. Danantara’s structure consists of a holding company and an investment arm to optimize the performance of state-owned companies,” he explained.
