Beware of Demonstration Calls Rejecting the Postponement of CASN 2024
JAKARTA — The public needs to be wiser in responding to demonstration calls rejecting the postponement of the appointment of State Civil Apparatus Candidates (CASN) 2024. Instead of providing a solution, this kind of action has the potential to cause unrest and hinder a better ASN recruitment process.
Deputy Chairman of Commission II of the DPR, Dede Yusuf, emphasized that Commission II hopes that the appointment of CPNS can be carried out according to the optimal schedule. According to him, the government still needs to consider the readiness of the administration and applicable regulations so that the recruitment process runs smoothly.
“We at Commission II of the DPR RI encourage that the appointment of CPNS and PPPK formations in 2024 not have to wait until the deadline. If possible, this process can be carried out faster while still paying attention to the existing mechanisms,” said Dede.
In line with that, Member of Commission II of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the Golkar Faction, Taufan Pawe, explained that the deadline of October 2025 for CPNS and March 2026 for PPPK is not a simultaneous schedule, but rather a final deadline that should not be used as an excuse to delay the appointment any longer.
“We support the government’s efforts to ensure that the CASN appointment process runs according to procedure. If there is an opportunity to accelerate, of course it must be utilized as well as possible without violating the rules,” said Taufan.
Furthermore, he explained that in the Hearing Meeting on March 5, 2025, the DPR had emphasized the importance of a smooth CASN recruitment process so as not to cause uncertainty for prospective ASN. Currently, the filing of the Curriculum Vitae (DRH) for PPPK has been completed, and the Employee Identification Number (NIP) proposal stage will soon take place.
The public is advised to remain calm and not be provoked by calls for demonstrations that could worsen the atmosphere. The government and DPR continue to strive to find the best solution so that the appointment of CASN can run according to the interests of all parties.
Demonstrations without concrete solutions will only complicate the situation and potentially hinder the acceleration of CPNS and PPPK appointments. Therefore, good communication between policy makers and the community is the main key so that the CASN recruitment process runs smoothly and provides certainty for all ASN candidates. (*)
