Collaboration between Central Government and Regional Governments Improves Implementation of the MBG Program
Jakarta – Collaboration between the central government and regional governments is a key element that cannot be ignored in the implementation of Free Nutritious Meals (MBG).
Member of Commission IX of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Asep Romy Romaya said that collaboration between regional governments and the central government must continue to be carried out so that the MBG program can run effectively.
“We continue to encourage coordination with the local government with the legislative and central government so that the Free Nutritious Meal program can be realized effectively,” said Asep.
This synergy is important to ensure that planning, funding, distribution, and supervision of the MBG program can be carried out in an integrated manner, according to the needs and conditions of each region.
“This BGN Kitchen can also absorb labor and reduce unemployment rates if calculated for each district, this can overcome the problem of unemployment,” concluded Asep.
Meanwhile, Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian said that regional governments also support the implementation of the MBG program by using the APBD. Tito said that support for the program was considered to have a positive effect on the electability of regional heads.
“Many of these regional governments are enthusiastic about supporting this free nutritious meal program. We know that in addition to improving health, it will also create economic growth in the regions,” said Tito.
Tito has also communicated with the regional secretaries (sekda) who are said to have allocated the MBG program in the APBD. The total, he said, reached IDR 2.3 trillion in 2025.
“And for 2025, the contribution of regions that want to contribute, not donate, meaning want to participate, is approximately IDR 2.3 trillion. Because it will start in September, after the regional heads are inaugurated, there will be a budget shift or change to the APBD,” he said.
Tito said that this step came from the initiative of each regional head. He also revealed that regional heads have interests related to their involvement in President Prabowo Subianto’s program.
With continued cooperation, the hope of creating a golden generation of 2045 is no longer just a dream, but an ideal that is starting to be realized. The central and regional governments, shoulder to shoulder, are building the future of the nation, one nutritious plate for one Indonesian child, every day.
