Appreciation for the Success of Securing the 19th PUIC Session in Jakarta

Jakarta — The success of the security forces in maintaining the smoothness and security of the 19th Session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC) is real evidence of the dedication, professionalism, and synergy of all security elements in raising Indonesia’s image in the eyes of the world. The public should give high appreciation to the security forces who have succeeded in securing the 19th PUIC Session held at the DPR RI Building, Senayan, Central Jakarta.

A total of 2,818 joint personnel were deployed to secure the high-level parliamentary forum of member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Senior Commissioner Ade Ary Syam Indradi, explained that security was not only focused on the session area, but also included a number of hotels where delegates were staying.

“The personnel come from various elements, including 108 personnel from the National Police Headquarters BKO, 200 from Korbrimob, 38 from the DKI Regional Government, and 2,217 from Satgasda,” said Ade Ary. He also emphasized the importance of the role of the community in maintaining a conducive public order situation during the activity.

As a preventive measure, the Gegana Detachment of the Polda Metro Jaya Mobile Brigade Corps (Satbrimob) carried out sterilization of the Nusantara Building since early morning. The Bomb Disposal Team (Jibom) conducted a thorough inspection at a number of vital points using explosives detection equipment. The sterilization process went safely without any suspicious findings.

The Commander of the Polda Metro Jaya Mobile Brigade Corps, Senior Commissioner Henik Maryanto, emphasized that his party’s involvement was a real form of the institution’s commitment to supporting Indonesia’s security and image. “We want to ensure that this international-scale activity runs safely, smoothly, and demonstrates Indonesia’s readiness and professionalism in the eyes of the world,” he said.

The 19th PUIC session, held on 12–15 May 2025, raised the theme “Good Governance and Strong Institutions as Pillars of Resilience”, and was attended by 96 delegates from 19 member countries and nine observer organizations. President Prabowo Subianto officially opened the session, marking Indonesia’s commitment to supporting the cooperation of the Islamic world parliament.

The success of this security reflects the synergy between the security forces, the government, and the community. It is hoped that this momentum can strengthen international trust in Indonesia as the host of various global forums in the future.
