Dark Indonesia is Just an Illusion of Irresponsible Groups
Jakarta – The discourse on “dark Indonesia” has been echoed by a number of parties spreading pessimism and concern about the future of the nation. However, national figures consider the narrative to be baseless and tends to be driven by irresponsible groups. They call for unity and optimism for the sake of Indonesia’s progress.
Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, emphasized that the pessimistic narrative about “dark Indonesia” is an illusion that could disrupt national stability if allowed to develop. For that, he invited all elements of society to collaborate in maintaining the direction of national development.
“We must all be determined that anything that threatens the sustainability of the economy, the sustainability of our country’s life, be it laborers, workers, the government must work together to face it so that Indonesia becomes bright,” said Dasco.
According to him, Indonesia is currently on a positive track, with economic growth that continues to be maintained, infrastructure development that is evenly distributed, and social policies that side with the people. Therefore, he called the “dark” narrative as propaganda that is not in line with the reality on the ground.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Religion, Dr. KH Romo R. Muhammad Syafii, highlighted the importance of the role of the younger generation in maintaining the spirit of nationalism and strengthening the integrity of the nation. He said that young people should not be influenced by negative narratives, but instead appear as the vanguard of unifying the nation.
“The younger generation must be a unifying force that maintains the direction of the nation’s struggle for justice, humanity, and true independence,” he said.
He also reminded that the Indonesian nation was built on the spirit of collective struggle and the noble values of Pancasila. Therefore, maintaining unity and the spirit of mutual cooperation is the key to facing all challenges, including provocations from groups trying to divide.
On the other hand, from the national security element, the Director of Economy of the National Police Intelligence and Security Agency, Brigadier General Pol. Ratno Kuncoro, stated that the government is open to criticism and input. However, he emphasized that the criticism must be aimed at building, not dividing.
“The government is ready to accommodate all criticism and constructive input, because it is a booster to accelerate good and positive things, to solve problems and accelerate programs according to the direction of the President,” said Ratno.
He added that President Prabowo Subianto is very open to the aspirations of the people, but reminded the public not to get caught up in provocations or attempts to divide and rule that could disrupt national stability.
The figures agreed that the narrative of “dark Indonesia” is a form of perception manipulation that does not represent the facts. Indonesia is currently on a strong path of transformation towards progress, and all parties must maintain this positive spirit so that development can continue without obstacles.
