Holding a PUIC-19 Farewell Dinner, Indonesia Invites the OIC Parliament to Bring Peace to the World

Jakarta — Jakarta City Hall tonight witnessed the warm togetherness of the delegates of the 19th Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC) in the Farewell Dinner event that marked the closing of this international event. The event began with a captivating performance of the Pesona Jakarta Dance, before the guests were greeted with speeches full of enthusiasm and hope.

The Chairperson of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Agency (BKSAP) of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Mardani Ali Sera, delivered a touching message about the unity of the people and the importance of concrete steps after the conference.

“As tonight comes to an end, let us not say goodbye — but see you again someday,” said Mardani in front of the delegates.

More than just a diplomatic forum, Mardani emphasized that this conference has formed a strong emotional bond between countries.

“We come as delegates from various countries, but we return as one family, bound by common values, common hopes, and the future that we share together,” he added.

He also called for the unity of the Islamic world in facing global crises, including the conflict in Gaza and the suffering of the Rohingya ethnic group.

“Let the world know that Muslims are not divided and not asleep. We are united in love and determination to be a force for justice and peace,” Mardani emphasized.

Meanwhile, the Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung in his speech highlighted the urgency of solidarity between Islamic countries.

“There are many problems in the Islamic world that need attention. Palestine must be our main focus. Make this meeting a step for Islamic countries to unite,” he said.

The event continued with a stunning Sufi Dance performance, accompanied by a dinner as the official closing of the conference.

This farewell dinner not only ended the conference agenda, but also marked the birth of a new commitment between Islamic countries to move together to build a just and peaceful future.
