JAKARTA, The implementation of the Re-vote (PSU) in various regions in Indonesia has been carried out safely, orderly, and in accordance with various principles of fair democracy. This success is also a reflection of the readiness of the election organizers in responding to challenges in the democratic process. The success of the PSU implementation also proves that there is a system improvement that continues to develop in Indonesia.

Regarding this, Member of the General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia, Yulianto Sudrajat, assessed that the success of the PSU cannot be separated from the dedication of the Voting Organizer Group (KPPS) in the field. He also appreciated how full the integrity of all parties involved in the implementation of the PSU was in carrying out all their duties.

“Support for the KPPS who maintain integrity and carry out their duties with full responsibility makes the PSU take place in accordance with the principles of honest and fair elections,” he said.

According to Yulianto, the minimal obstacles and no significant disruptions found during the entire PSU process are real evidence that the democratic process in Indonesia is truly continuing to progress.

He also emphasized the importance of supervision from various institutions such as Bawaslu and the police as security forces in maintaining the conduciveness of the regions in each region that is holding a Revote.

Meanwhile, another member of the KPU RI, Iffa Rosita, also called on all candidate pairs and their supporters to continue to accept whatever and however the final results of the PSU that have been officially announced by remaining open and mature.

“I hope all candidate pairs can be relieved, and have an open heart in accepting the results of the determination of the vote acquisition,” he said after witnessing the vote recapitulation in Serang Regency.

Iffa added that organizers in all regions need to be careful in every stage of the recapitulation so that the PSU results are no longer disputed and hopes that no more regions will again sue the results to the Constitutional Court.

“Serang should not follow suit,” he reminded.

Support for political maturity was also conveyed by the Chairman of PCNU Kutai Kartanegara, KH. Muhammad Askin. He emphasized the importance of maintaining brotherhood and reuniting the steps of society after the political contestation and called for the importance of prioritizing unity for the sake of regional stability.

“We invite all elements of society to accept the results of the Pilkada with an open heart, uphold democracy, and prioritize common interests over group interests,” he said.
