Driving an Inclusive and Progressive Transformation of the UI Alumni Association with Dewi Puspitorini

JAKARTA – The election of the Chairperson of the University of Indonesia Alumni Association (ILUNI UI) for the 2025–2028 period is a crucial moment in determining the organization’s new direction. In this election, Dr. Dewi Puspitorini, SpP, MARS, emerged as a candidate who brings a spirit of renewal based on collaboration, modern governance, and strengthening the global alumni network.

Dr. Wawan Mulyawan, Chairperson of the UI Faculty of Medicine ILUNI, described Dewi as a figure with a strong vision and track record of inclusive leadership.

“Dewi is a figure capable of uniting across faculties and generations, with a vision relevant to the challenges of the times,” said Wawan.

Dewi’s vision, which encompasses the total digitalization of the ILUNI system, is a key highlight. The UI Connect platform she initiated is designed to be a digital-based alumni interaction hub, enabling active participation without geographical boundaries. This innovation aims to increase the effectiveness of organizational communication and alumni engagement at home and abroad.

Dewi, not only focusing on systems, also raises the issue of women’s empowerment through the Indonesian Women’s Empowerment Program.

“Gender equality is part of organizational progress. It’s time for women to be given greater space in leadership,” Dewi emphasized.

This idea is relevant amidst the national spirit that demands inclusivity. In this context, the tagline “U&I Guyub, U and I become Us” reflects the direction of Alumni Association of UI (Alumni University) towards a more cohesive and participatory approach. More than just slogans, this approach creates a broad space for aspirations for alumni from various backgrounds.

Dewi also emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in Alumni Association of UI’s governance.

“Alumni organizations must be managed professionally and openly. That is the key to building trust,” Dewi added.

As a medical specialist with a MARS degree, Dewi is considered to have the strategic capabilities to lead a large organization. With a combination of professional experience and a progressive vision, he offers a new direction that aligns with the spirit of Golden Indonesia 2045.

The e-voting election on August 23–24, 2025, provides an opportunity for all alumni to actively participate in choosing leaders capable of taking ALUNI UI to the next level. (ed)
