Dr. Dewi Puspitorini’s Inclusive Leadership Strengthens the University of Indonesia Alumni Association
Jakarta – The election of the Chairperson of the University of Indonesia Alumni Association (Iluni UI) for the 2025–2028 period is increasingly attracting attention from alumni. One figure who has captured the spotlight is Dr. Dewi Puspitorini, Sp.P, MARS, a 1987 alumna of the UI Faculty of Medicine. With her vision titled “U&I Together: U and I Become Us,” Dewi emphasized the importance of building Iluni UI as a progressive, inclusive organization capable of making a real impact on alumni, their alma mater, and the nation.
In her statement, Dewi stated that Iluni UI must be a shared home open to all alumni. She believes this organization needs to adapt to changing times and be able to facilitate alumni contributions at the national and global levels. “Iluni UI must be a collaborative platform capable of harnessing the positive energy of alumni for the advancement of the nation,” Dewi said.
Her ambitious vision is outlined through five strategic missions, including the total digitalization of the Alumni Association (Alumni Association) system, strengthening the global alumni network, sustainable programs focused on alumni welfare and health, real contributions to realizing a healthy and prosperous Indonesia, and women’s empowerment starting from within the UI alumni community.
Dewi is no stranger to the world of community service and alumni organizations. She is known for her extensive experience as a physician, including serving as the personal physician to the Minister of Health and the First Lady, holding several important positions at the Army Hospital (RSPAD), and serving as Secretary General of the Indonesian Medical Faculty Alumni Association (FIAKSI).
The Chairman of the Alumni Association of the Faculty of Medicine (FKUI), Dr. Wawan Mulyawan, expressed his full support for Dewi’s candidacy. He stated that Dewi is a visionary figure with a strong commitment to organizational governance. “We at the Alumni Association of the Faculty of Medicine (FKUI) fully support her efforts to steer the Alumni Association of the UI in a better direction,” he said. Support for Dewi continues to flow from various faculties and across generations, both domestically and internationally.
The Chairperson of the UI Alumni Association for the 2022–2025 period, Didit Ratam, also expressed his appreciation for the candidates’ enthusiasm and expressed his hope that the UI Alumni Association’s strategic programs would continue. Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the 2025 UI Alumni Association Election Organizing Committee, Yunadi Ramlan, stated that alumni enthusiasm this year has reached an all-time high. Of the 16 applicants, seven candidates have passed the verification process to compete in the campaign period.
Voting will be conducted digitally through the UI Connect app on August 23–24, 2025, with the results announced at the 10th UI Alumni Association National Conference on August 24, 2025. With an inclusive vision, extensive experience in community service, and a passion for building a strong alumni movement, Dr. Dewi Puspitorini has emerged as one of the strongest candidates, considered capable of leading the UI Alumni Association toward a more united and impactful future.
