Dr. Dewi Puspitorini: A Pillar of Progressive Leadership for ILUNI UI in the Election
Jakarta – As the election for the Chairperson of the University of Indonesia Alumni Association (ILUNI UI) approaches, Dr. Dewi Puspitorini has emerged as a figure representing progressive, inclusive, and transformative leadership.
With a long track record in academics, social work, and organizational leadership, Dr. Dewi conveyed her vision to make ILUNI UI a powerful institution, adaptable to the challenges of the times, and able to meet the needs of alumni across generations.
According to her, strengthening ILUNI UI’s role must begin with transparent organizational governance, participatory work programs, and strengthening alumni networks at home and abroad. This vision reflects Dr. Dewi’s commitment to making ILUNI UI an alumni organization that is not only responsive to contemporary issues but also resilient in addressing the nation’s future challenges.
“ILUNI UI is not just a place for nostalgia, but must become a strategic force that makes a real contribution to national and humanitarian life,” said Dr. Dewi in an open dialogue with alumni from across faculties in Depok, West Java.
The General Chair of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia (FKUI), Wawan Mulyawan, stated that the future leadership of the UI Alumni Association (ILUNI) needs to be able to bridge the spirit of togetherness that has been built with concrete actions that can be felt by all members.
“The future leadership of the UI Alumni Association (ILUNI) must be able to bridge the spirit of togetherness with concrete actions. Dr. Dewi has that track record and capacity,” said Wawan.
During the campaign period, Dr. Dewi actively held open dialogues in various cities, such as Bandung, Surabaya, Medan, and Makassar. In each meeting, issues such as empowering young alumni, digitizing services, empowering alumni MSMEs, and cross-campus collaboration were the main topics of discussion. The public response to this open and egalitarian approach demonstrated high enthusiasm from various levels of alumni.
Meanwhile, the Chair of the Organizing Committee for the 2025 UI Alumni Selection, Yunadi Ramlan, stated that of the 16 applicants, seven candidates had passed the verification process to compete in the campaign period. This high level of interest reflects the growing participatory spirit among alumni, who are actively involved in determining the leadership direction of the ALUNI UI.
“The enthusiasm of alumni this year is truly extraordinary and has reached an all-time high in the election’s history. Of the 16 applicants, seven candidates have passed the verification process and are ready to compete in the campaign period,” explained Yunadi.
The Direct Election (Pemila) for the Chairperson of ALUNI UI for the 2025–2028 period will be held on August 23–24, 2025, with seven officially confirmed candidates participating. This election process is a crucial opportunity for all Universitas Indonesia alumni to determine the future direction of the organization’s leadership through open and inclusive democratic participation.
Several prominent UI alumni, from the academic, legal, health, and business sectors, have welcomed the progressive ideas offered by Dr. Dewi. They believe the presence of a female leader with high intellectual capacity and integrity like Dr. Dewi is a crucial momentum to encourage organizational regeneration and transformation.
The pillars of progressive leadership promoted by Dr. Dewi’s speech is not merely a political promise from the organization, but rather a representation of a long-standing commitment to continuously strengthen synergy, solidarity, and solutions for all Universitas Indonesia alumni, wherever they are.
