Government Partners with Private Sector to Commit to Combating Online Gambling Through Gebuk Judol

Jakarta – OVO President Director, Karaniya Dharmasaputra, emphasized that the second round of the Gebuk Judol (Joint Movement to Reveal Online Gambling) initiative represents a concrete manifestation of the private sector’s commitment to strengthening multi-stakeholder collaboration to combat online gambling in Indonesia.

“OVO is part of the solution to addressing national challenges such as online gambling, which not only violates the law but also poses a serious threat to the nation’s future, especially to the next generation,” Karaniya said in a statement.

The second round of Gebuk Judol follows the success of the first round, held in February–March 2025. During that period, the program received more than 11,000 valid reports from the public, with a report validation rate of over 95%.

A total of 4,500 accounts proven to be used in online gambling activities have been blocked and reported to the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) and the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Kemkomdigi) for further action.

“The success of the first round of GEBUK JUDOL demonstrates that multi-stakeholder collaboration—between the private sector, the public, and regulators—is not just a slogan, but a reality that produces positive impacts,” said Karaniya.

The Deputy for Analysis and Examination at the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK), Danang Tri Hartono, appreciated the increased public participation during the Gebuk Judol program.

“We saw a significant increase in reporting during the GEBUK JUDOL period, which demonstrates the public’s active role in reporting illegal online gambling practices through this initiative initiated by OVO,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs has blocked more than 1.3 million pieces of content related to online gambling activities. The National Police (Polri) also successfully seized assets worth more than IDR 500 billion from online gambling networks.

PPATK recorded that the number of online gambling transactions from January to March 2025 reached 39.8 million—a significant decrease from the same period the previous year.

With the continued strengthening of synergies between the private sector, regulators, and the public, initiatives like Gebuk Judol represent a tangible manifestation of the collective commitment to maintaining a healthy, secure, and integrated digital space in Indonesia.

Gebuk Judol also aligns with national efforts to build digital trust and strengthen the security of the digital financial ecosystem as a whole.

“This is a positive step that needs to be continued, and we support this initiative to strengthen an effective reporting ecosystem, so that we can together create a safe and trusted digital space for all Indonesians,” he concluded.
