Dewi Puspitorini Makes ILUNI UI a Big Home for All Alumni
Jakarta – Ahead of the direct election (Pemila) for the Chair of the University of Indonesia Alumni Association (ILUNI UI) for the 2025–2028 period, Dr. Dewi Puspitorini has adopted a vision of making ILUNI UI a big, inclusive home for all alumni, across generations and backgrounds.
With a collaborative approach and a spirit of diversity, Dr. Dewi emphasized the importance of establishing ILUNI UI as more than just an administrative institution, but also a functional space for aspirations and real contributions.
“ILUNI UI must exist as a shared home that provides a place for every alumni to get involved, network, and work for the common good,” Dewi said during an alumni discussion at the UI Salemba Campus some time ago.
According to her, ILUNI UI must be strengthened in the future with accountable organizational governance, participatory programs, and digital innovation to expand access and services for alumni.
“The role of alumni in building strategic networks to support career development, social, and national contributions is crucial,” said Dewi.
Several alumni from across faculties welcomed the initiative. The General Chair of the ILUNI FKUI, Wawan Mulyawan, stated that a leader like Dr. Dewi is urgently needed to bridge alumni hopes with concrete action.
“Dr. Dewi Puspitorini’s track record and leadership capacity are considered worthy of being used as key assets,” he said.
During the campaign period, Dewi actively visited and engaged in direct dialogue with alumni in Bandung, Surabaya, Medan, and Makassar. Issues such as empowering young alumni, strengthening alumni MSMEs, digitizing alumni services, and cross-faculty collaboration were the main focus of her discussions.
The Direct Election (Pemila) for the General Chair of ILUNI UI for the 2025–2028 period will be held on August 23–24, 2025, with seven officially confirmed candidates participating. This election process is a crucial opportunity for all Universitas Indonesia alumni to determine the future direction of the organization’s leadership through open and inclusive democratic participation.
The upcoming ALUNI UI Chairperson election is expected to be not only an internal democratic event, but also a reflection of the values of scholarship, diversity, and integrity that have become UI’s legacy. Dewi brings a spirit of change based on values and work, making ALUNI UI a relevant and impactful institution in society.
