Dewi Puspitorini, Most Suitable Leader of the Alumni Association of the University of Indonesia

Jakarta – Ahead of the direct election (Pemila) for the Chairperson of the University of Indonesia Alumni Association (ILUNI UI) for the 2025–2028 period, which will be held on August 23–24, 2025, electronically (e-vote) through the UI Connect application, Dr. Dewi Puspitorini has emerged as a candidate considered capable of providing progressive, inclusive, and impactful leadership.

Dewi’s long track record in social action is a crucial asset that strengthens alumni support. On November 26, 2022, she personally led the delivery of the first phase of donations to the Cianjur earthquake victims with the Alumni Association of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Indonesia (UI). The aid was delivered using an Army Bekang truck, a Hiace vehicle from the Army Hospital (RSPAD), and with the participation of alumni doctors and FKUI students.

“All parties play a role in their respective fields and are moving quickly to ensure that aid reaches those in need,” said Dewi Puspitorini.

The assistance included not only logistics but also medical personnel from Teams 1 and 2 of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia (IFKUI). The orthopedic and anesthesia specialist teams performed surgeries at Bhayangkara Hospital in Cianjur, while general practitioners provided healthcare services in refugee camps. According to Dewi, this experience underscored the importance of cross-professional synergy in responding to emergencies.

“Cross-professional and cross-generational collaboration makes disaster management faster, more precise, and more targeted,” added Dewi Puspitorini.

In her leadership vision, Dewi emphasized the need for transparent organizational governance, participatory work programs, and strengthening alumni networks at the national and international levels.

“IFKUI is not just a place for nostalgia, but must become a strategic force that makes a real contribution to national and humanitarian life,” emphasized Dewi Puspitorini.

An open, collaborative, and impact-oriented approach is Dewi’s hallmark in communicating with alumni in various cities. Its focus on strengthening young alumni, digitizing services, empowering alumni MSMEs, and cross-campus collaboration has made it considered capable of making ILUNI UI an inclusive, resilient, and relevant organization to address future challenges.
