Dr. Dewi Puspitorini Promotes Alumni Association of the University of Indonesia (ILUNI UI) Vision as a National Innovation Center
Jakarta – Ahead of the direct election (Pemila) for the Chair of the University of Indonesia Alumni Association (ILUNI UI) for the 2025–2028 period, Dr. Dewi Puspitorini has emerged as a figure with a transformative vision.
She is committed to encouraging Alumni Association of the University of Indonesia (UI) to transform into a national innovation center capable of making a real contribution to the advancement of alumni and the nation.
Supported by a long track record in academics, social work, and organizational leadership, Dr. Dewi believes that Alumni Association of the University of Indonesia (UI) has great potential to generate strategic solutions for Indonesia.
“ILUNI UI is not just a place for nostalgia, but must become a strategic force that makes a real contribution to national and humanitarian life,” she emphasized.
Her ideas include strengthening transparent organizational governance, increasing cross-generational participation, and programs based on collaboration and innovation. She aims to make Alumni Association of the University of Indonesia (UI) a social laboratory to incubate strategic alumni ideas in addressing the challenges of the times, from economic resilience to digital transformation.
During a dialogue tour to Bandung, Surabaya, Medan, and Makassar, Dr. Dewi raised the issues of empowering young alumni, digitizing ILUNI services, strengthening alumni-mentored MSMEs, and partnering with campus communities and the business world. This inclusive approach received a positive response from various alumni groups.
The Chairperson of ILUNI UI, Didit Ratam, emphasized the importance of selecting leaders with strong vision and execution skills.
“This contest of ideas is not just about ideas, but also about execution skills, leadership, and collaborative initiatives in implementing concrete programs,” he said.
Similarly, the Chairperson of ILUNI FKUI, Wawan Mulyawan, supported the importance of ILUNI leaders who uphold a spirit of togetherness.
“The future leader of ILUNI UI must be able to bridge the spirit of togetherness with concrete work. Dr. Dewi has that track record and capacity,” Wawan said.
Dr. Dewi was seen during the 2022 Cianjur earthquake. Together with Teams 1 and 2 of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia (IFKUI), she mobilized medical assistance, including orthopedic surgery and anesthesia at Bhayangkara Hospital in Cianjur, as well as providing medical services in refugee camps.
Through a transformative approach, Dr. Dewi Puspitorini proposes a new direction for ILUNI UI as a national innovation center that is relevant and impactful for alumni and the nation.*
