The Visionary Leadership of Dr. Dewi Puspitorini: New Hope for the Alumni Association of the University of Indonesia 2025–2028

Jakarta – The election for the Chair of the Alumni Association of the University of Indonesia (ILUNI UI) for the 2025–2028 period is entering a crucial stage. Of the many candidates who have emerged, the name of Dr. Dewi Puspitorini, Sp.P., M.A.R.S., M.H. stands out with her inclusive, progressive leadership vision that will have a real impact on alumni, her alma mater, and the nation.

As a pulmonology specialist, Dr. Dewi has a long track record of service to national health. Her commitment extends beyond the medical field to building a social network of alumni across faculties and generations.

The Chairperson of the ILUNI Faculty of Medicine, UI, Dr. Wawan Mulyawan, expressed his support for Dr. Dewi, believing she possesses the ability to unite various elements within the ILUNI.

“Dewi is a figure capable of uniting across faculties and generations, with a vision that is relevant to the challenges of the times,” said Wawan.

With the vision of “Building a collaborative, progressive, inclusive Alumni Association (ILUNI) UI with a real impact on alumni, the UI alma mater, and the nation’s progress towards a Golden Indonesia 2045,” Dr. Dewi has officially registered as a candidate for Chairperson of ILUNI UI and received ballot number 6.

To realize her vision, Dr. Dewi also has five main missions. First, the total digitalization of the ILUNI system to strengthen the efficiency and accessibility of services. Second, strengthening the UI alumni network globally. Third, sustainable empowerment of alumni, especially in terms of welfare and health. Fourth, making a real contribution to a healthier and more prosperous Indonesia. And fifth, an empowerment program for Indonesian women, starting with UI alumni.

In a separate statement, Dr. Dewi emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in the governance of the alumni organization. She also highlighted the urgency of mainstreaming gender equality issues within ILUNI.

“Gender equality is part of the organization’s progress. It’s time for women to be given greater space in leadership,” she emphasized.

Using the tagline “U&I Guyub, U and I become Us,” Dr. Dewi aims to make ILUNI UI a shared home for more than 300,000 alumni spread across the country.

“ILUNI UI must be a model for a transparent, accountable, and inclusive alumni organization,” she concluded.

With her cross-generational collaborative spirit and strong professional background, Dr. Dewi Puspitorini brings new hope in strengthening ILUNI UI’s role as a driving force for national progress. {}
