Alumni Association of the University of Indonesia Ready to Embody the Spirit of Unity with Dr. Dewi Puspitorini

JAKARTA – Ahead of the direct election (Pemila) for the Chairperson of the University of Indonesia Alumni Association (ILUNI UI) for the 2025–2028 period, Dr. Dewi Puspitorini’s name is increasingly attracting attention with her ambitious vision titled “Unity and Innovation.” This initiative prioritizes ILUNI UI as a space for collaboration across generations of alumni, as well as a driving force for relevant breakthroughs to address the challenges of the times.

“ILUNI UI needs to be a unifying hub for alumni from various backgrounds, as well as an accelerator of impactful ideas and contributions. We need innovation, but we also need solidarity,” Dr. Dewi emphasized. She highlighted the importance of digitalizing services, organizational transparency, and strengthening the role of young alumni as the spearhead of transformation.

Support for Dr. Dewi has come from various circles, including Professor Dr. Purnawan Junadi, M.P.H., Ph.D., who mentored her during her undergraduate studies, Professor of Public Health at the University of Indonesia (FKM UI). “Mbak Dewi is a brilliant student, actively holding various positions, and highly dedicated to service. She now carries that determination to lead Alumni Association of UI (ILUNI UI) for the development and progress of all,” he said.

The momentum of this vision grew even more prominent when Alumni Association of UI held an Idea Competition for Chairperson Candidates at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Auditorium at UI. Seven candidates, including Dr. Dewi, presented ideas based on transformation, collaboration, and independence. Alumni Association Chairperson, Didit Ratam, emphasized that this election was crucial for the direction of the organization.

“The leader we elect today will determine the future of Alumni Association of UI for years to come. Let’s use our voting rights wisely for our shared progress,” he said.

Alumni Association Secretary-General, Ahmad Fitrianto, added that this forum tested the candidates’ visions and operational strategies, including strategic issues such as digital transformation, the development of the alumni creative economy, and the role of alumni in public policy and advocacy.

The Chairperson of the Organizing Committee, Yunadi Ramlan, reminded that the Final Voter List (DPT) will be established on August 20, 2025. “Currently, 17,939 accounts have been validated. Alumni are urged to immediately confirm their verification status and be ready to e-vote on the UI Connect app,” he explained.

For Dr. Dewi, the ILUNI UI Election is not just an opportunity to elect a chairman, but also a momentum to rekindle the collective spirit of alumni. “All alumni must actively contribute to strengthening intergenerational solidarity and presenting ILUNI UI as a locomotive of change that is relevant, inclusive, and has a real impact on the nation,” he said.

This vision of inclusive leadership has received a positive response. The Chairperson of ILUNI FTUI, Didit Ratam, believes that Dr. Dewi offers a new, unifying direction. “We are not simply electing a leader, but building an inclusive and visionary organizational culture. It’s time for ILUNI UI to become a home of innovation,” he said.

Ahmad Fitrianto also hopes that whoever is elected can strengthen synergy with Himpuni and the government, so that ILUNI UI can make a real contribution at the national level.

The election for the ALUNI UI Chairperson for 2025–2028 will be held on August 23–24, 2025, via an electronic voting system. With strong support and a vision of Unity and Innovation, Dr. Dewi Puspitorini is optimistic about leading ALUNI UI into a new, more solid, modern, and impactful chapter.
