Dr. Dewi Puspitorini, an Inclusive Leader for the Future of the UI Alumni Association
Jakarta – The election of the Chairperson of the University of Indonesia Alumni Association (ILUNI UI) for the 2025–2028 period is seen as a strategic moment to determine the future direction of the largest alumni organization in the country. Among the competing candidates, Dr. Dewi Puspitorini, Sp.P, MARS, emerged with a strong vision of modernization and inclusivity, combining collaboration across generations and sectors for mutual progress.
As a pulmonary specialist and hospital management expert, Dewi is known for her track record of collaborative, progressive, and results-oriented leadership. She champions the tagline “U & I Guyub, U and I become Us,” emphasizing that togetherness is not just about togetherness, but also about collective strength for moving forward.
One of her flagship initiatives is the development of an integrated digital alumni ecosystem through the UI Connect platform. This platform is designed to bring together alumni networks from various backgrounds, both domestically and internationally, resulting in collaborations that have a direct impact on society.
“Technology should be used to bring people closer, not to limit them,” said Dewi.
In addition to digitalization, Dewi prioritizes clean, transparent, and professional organizational governance. According to her, accountability is a crucial foundation for building trust and maintaining the relevance of Alumni Association of UI (ILUNI UI) amidst changing times. She also emphasized the importance of alumni welfare programs, ranging from regular health checks and psychological services to financial support for those in need.
Support for Dewi came from various parties. The Secretary-General of ILUNI UI, Ahmad Fitrianto, assessed that Dewi’s ideas align with the organization’s current needs.
“Especially in strengthening synergy with the Indonesian State University Alumni Association (HIMPUNI) and the government,” said Ahmad.
Meanwhile, Dr. Risman Pasaribu, a member of the National Islamic Student Alumni Corps (KAHMI) Expert Council, described Dewi as a figure of high integrity, extensive experience, and transparency in her work.
The election for the Alumni Association of UI (ILUNI UI) Chairperson will be held on August 23–24, 2025, through an e-voting system, which is expected to expand alumni participation and strengthen the legitimacy of the election results.
With an inclusive vision, the use of digital technology, and a drive for collaboration for the nation’s advancement, Dr. Dewi Puspitorini is considered capable of leading ALUNI UI to become a united, progressive, and relevant organization facing future challenges.
