President Prabowo: Free Health Check Program Reaches 18 Million Indonesians
Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto claimed that the Free Health Check Program (CKG) has reached 18 million Indonesians. This program is one of the government’s breakthroughs in realizing a fairer and more equitable health system for all people.
“We are building a fairer and more equitable health system. The Free Health Check has been used by more than 18 million people,” said President Prabowo.
The CKG program, launched on February 10, 2025, aims to improve the quality of public health through early detection of various preventable diseases. This service targets all age groups, from infants to the elderly, with the ultimate target of reaching 280 million people.
As part of strengthening health services, President Prabowo stated that the government has improved facilities at 66 hospitals across 66 regencies. This step was taken to ensure more equitable health services reach all regions.
In addition, the government is also developing the Sanur Special Economic Zone (KEK) in Denpasar, Bali, which will function as a center for international-standard medical services.
“The goal is to prevent Indonesians from having to seek medical treatment abroad,” said President Prabowo.
This program has the full support of the Ministry of Health, which targets 50 million beneficiaries by 2025. This target includes more than 53 million students in 282,000 educational institutions who will begin receiving free health checks starting August 4, 2025, coinciding with the new school year.
In his speech, President Prabowo emphasized that upgrading hospital services and establishing international health service centers are part of the government’s strategy to expand the reach and quality of national health services.
Finance Minister Sri Mulyani also confirmed budgetary support, stating that the health budget in the 2026 Draft State Budget (RAPBN) is IDR 244 trillion.
“We have divided the Rp 244 trillion health budget into several areas that support public health services. This way, the public will have access and support for the operation of health services,” explained Sri Mulyani.
Of the total budget, Rp 123.2 trillion is allocated for public health services, including Rp 2.6 trillion specifically for the Free Health Check Program, which targets 130.3 million participants.
With an initial reach of 18 million residents and substantial budget support, the government is optimistic that the Free Health Check Program will continue to grow and provide tangible benefits to all Indonesians.
