UI Connect: Dewi Puspitorini’s Idea for Progressive Alumni Collaboration

Jakarta – The University of Indonesia Alumni Association (ILUNI UI) is entering a crucial phase with the election of its Chairperson for the 2025–2028 period on August 23–24. Among the candidates, Dr. Dewi Puspitorini, Sp.P, MARS, a 1987 alumna of the UI Faculty of Medicine, has captured attention with her fresh ideas emphasizing collaboration across faculties and generations.

In her vision, Dewi emphasized the importance of establishing an alumni organization that is inclusive, modern, and has a real impact on the nation. She emphasized this vision through the “UI Alumni We Care!” event at the IASTH Building in Central Jakarta, which brought alumni together with the community through various programs, ranging from job fairs, entrepreneurship talk shows, MSME bazaars, and free healthcare services.

“Guyub” is not just about togetherness, but also the strength to move forward collectively. UI alumni must demonstrate a real role, not only on campus, but also in society,” said Dewi.

One of the main breakthroughs offered by Dewi is the development of UI Connect, a digital platform that serves as an interactive platform for alumni from across regions and internationally. Through this platform, alumni can connect, collaborate, and develop networks more effectively.

“Technology should be used to bring people closer, not to limit them. With UI Connect, alumni from around the world can stay connected in one inclusive and dynamic ecosystem,” she explained.

This digital innovation is part of the broader vision titled “Building a UI Alumni Association (ILUNI) that is united, progressive, inclusive, and has a real impact on alumni, alma mater, and the nation towards a Golden Indonesia 2045.”

In addition to digital transformation, Dewi also highlighted accountable organizational governance. According to her, the UI Alumni Association must be managed with professional standards to become a role model for modern organizations.

“The UI Alumni Association must be an example of a clean, open organization that has a real impact on the nation. Legitimacy is born from consistent accountability,” Dewi emphasized.

Support for Dewi also came from alumni from across faculties. The Chairperson of the UI Alumni Association of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Wawan Mulyawan believes Dewi possesses the leadership qualities needed in an era of rapid change.

“Dewi has a clear vision and real capacity. She can combine professional competence with a collaborative spirit to unite the diverse alumni,” said Wawan.

In addition to her professional career as a pulmonary specialist, who served as Director of Professional Health Workers at RSPAD and as the President’s personal physician, Dewi is also active in various alumni organizations, serving as General Secretary of the ILUNI FKUI, Deputy Chairperson of ILUNI FKUI, General Secretary of FIAKSI, and Chairperson of IKAMARS UI.

With UI Connect’s digital innovation, professional governance, and focus on alumni welfare, Dewi offers a more inclusive, adaptive organization that makes a real contribution to the nation.
