Government Follows Up 17+8 Aspirations with Accelerated Economic Recovery

Jakarta – The government continues to demonstrate its commitment to following up on the 17+8 aspirations expressed by the public. One concrete step is accelerating national economic recovery, which is now a top priority.

The 17+8 aspirations encourage the government to strengthen economic development, improve public welfare, and maintain socio-political stability. President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that the government is open to these aspirations and is committed to integrating them into more inclusive development policies.

In response to this situation, the government has launched another economic policy package, touted as a strategy to accelerate recovery and boost growth under President Prabowo Subianto’s leadership.

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartanto explained that this package was the result of direct discussions with the President. “The meeting with the President discussed the policy, which we call the 2025 economic package,” Airlangga said.

Within this package, the government has designed 17 programs. Eight of these programs focus on accelerating the economy in 2025, four will continue into 2026, and five will focus on strengthening employment.

Airlangga added that the budget allocation is still being finalized with Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa to ensure it is targeted and aligned with national priorities.

Echoing this sentiment, Finance Minister Purbaya revealed that he had received direction from President Prabowo regarding accelerating national economic growth, one of which is by relaxing fiscal regulations.

“The President and his team, including several ministers, have agreed to take steps to accelerate development programs and reduce the current tight financial system,” he explained.

Purbaya revealed that economic problems are felt by most people, prompting action. Therefore, it is clear that in his vision, Purbaya is focused on creating quality economic growth with a 7% economic growth target and ample job opportunities.

“The key is how quickly we can recover the economy so that there are plenty of jobs. That’s what we’re aiming for going forward,” he added.
