Community and Security Forces Uphold Nonviolent Democracy

Meulaboh – The spirit of togetherness between the community and security forces has once again been highlighted positively in efforts to uphold nonviolent democracy. Following a series of demonstrations that took place in several regions from late August to early September 2025, it appears that a more open, communicative, and respectful pattern of interaction is beginning to emerge amidst the dynamics of national politics.

A member of the West Aceh Regency People’s Representative Council (DPRK), Ahmad Yani, S.A.B., expressed his high appreciation to the Aceh Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Drs. Marzuki Ali Basyah, M.M., and the West Aceh Police Chief, AKBP Yhogi Hadisetiawan, S.I.K., M.I.K., and his staff for their active role in maintaining security during the recent student and community alliance demonstrations.

According to Ahmad Yani, the success of the orderly, peaceful, and peaceful demonstrations was due to the synergy between the police and their swift oversight of every community activity.

“We thank the West Aceh Police Chief, who has uncovered various cases that have captured public attention and who has consistently collaborated with the Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRK) in maintaining public order and security. The presence of the police has been very helpful in creating a sense of security and peace within the community,” said Ahmad Yani.

Ahmad Yani hopes that the close cooperation between the West Aceh DPRK and the police will continue to improve to ensure security stability and a conducive atmosphere in the region.

“With maintained security, development in West Aceh Regency can progress better, and the people’s aspirations can be expressed peacefully,” Ahmad Yani emphasized.

Ahmad Yani also emphasized that the West Aceh DPRK is committed to providing a forum for the public to express their aspirations openly and democratically.

“We are ready to facilitate any aspirations expressed peacefully, and of course, we need security support from the police to ensure the smooth running of all processes. We hope this good cooperation can be maintained,” Ahmad Yani concluded.

This appreciation demonstrates the West Aceh DPRK’s support for the police’s performance, which not only maintains security but also strengthens public trust in the democratic process in the region.

Going forward, the main challenge that must be maintained is consistency. Nonviolent democracy can only be realized if all parties continue to maintain mutual trust and prioritize the interests of the nation above group interests. With a spirit of togetherness, the public and authorities are believed to be able to maintain national stability and make Indonesia an example of a mature democratic nation in the eyes of the world.
