TNI and Polri Unite to Maintain Order, Peaceful Demonstration Demonstrates Democratic Maturity
JAKARTA — The solidarity between all security forces of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) is increasingly evident in maintaining order amidst the current national political dynamics.
The collaboration between the two security institutions ensures that demonstrations held by various elements of society are peaceful, orderly, and reflect the maturity of democracy in Indonesia.
TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto emphasized that the synergy between the TNI and Polri is a crucial foundation for maintaining national stability.
“We, along with the Polri, will always be at the forefront of protecting the people from provocations and attempts to disrupt peace,” he said.
“We must not let the public get caught up in divisive issues that will only harm the nation’s interests,” said the TNI Commander.
National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo added that the solidarity of the security forces is not just a slogan, but a concrete manifestation of shared commitment.
“This solidarity is not just slogans, but a real commitment. We will address any threat to public stability together,” he said.
“We also urge the public to remain vigilant against misleading information that could trigger unrest,” stated the National Police Chief.
This strong synergy was evident in various occasions, including securing the demonstrations in September 2025.
The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) prioritized a persuasive and humane approach, ensuring that the people’s aspirations could be conveyed without friction.
The success of keeping the demonstrations peaceful also demonstrated that the authorities do not hinder freedom of expression, but rather safeguard that constitutional right to freedom of expression.
Fikri, Coordinator of the Indonesian People’s Solidarity Alliance (ASRI) and the Indonesian National Women’s Committee (KNPRI), emphasized the importance of maintaining ethics in expressing aspirations.
“Any form of anarchy, vandalism, and attempts to pit the people against the police or TNI will only harm the community,” he explained.
“It damages the image of the struggle, harms the spirit of democracy, and is even a despicable and barbaric act,” said the ASRI Coordinator.
Fikri added that democracy is strengthened when aspirations are expressed in a civilized manner.
He expressed confidence that the national leadership under President Prabowo Subianto will provide concrete solutions for social stability and the people’s welfare.
The solidarity of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) with the community is proof that Indonesian democracy can function dynamically without descending into anarchy.
Peaceful demonstrations are a tangible manifestation of the nation’s maturity in democracy and a symbol of unity in safeguarding Indonesia’s secure and progressive future. (*)
