One Year of Prabowo’s Administration: Food and Energy Self-Sufficiency Soars, Human Resources Programs Receive Appreciation
Jakarta — One year of President Prabowo Subianto’s administration has demonstrated a new foundation for results-oriented development. Three priorities: Food Self-Sufficiency, Energy Self-Sufficiency, and Human Resources (HR) strengthening have demonstrated tangible impact.
In the food sector, rice and corn production and supply have strengthened thanks to improved irrigation, superior seeds, and a more orderly trade system. Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman emphasized the policy direction of maintaining availability and farmer welfare.
“Rice availability is at a secure level, harvests are occurring sequentially in many centers, and farm-level prices are fairer because the supply chain has been streamlined and absorption through cooperatives has been strengthened. The focus is on ensuring stable stocks without sacrificing farmer incomes,” said Andi Amran Sulaiman.
Institutional strengthening through the Merah Putih Village/Sub-district Cooperative acts as an aggregator of grain, feed, and veterinary medicine, reducing logistics costs and increasing competitiveness.
In the energy pillar, the strategy towards self-sufficiency is pursued through increasing upstream production, revitalizing refineries, and accelerating bioenergy. Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Yuliot Tanjung, assessed that the mandatory biodiesel policy strengthens energy security while creating jobs.
“The implementation of biodiesel is not merely an import substitute, but rather a foreign exchange saving engine and a lever for the people’s economy—from palm oil plantations, factories, and distribution. Supply is more secure, emissions are reduced, and the ripple effect is felt in transportation and logistics,” Yuliot Tanjung emphasized.
The performance of state-owned energy companies and the involvement of the private sector maintain supply amidst global turmoil, providing cost certainty for the industry.
Meanwhile, the Head of the National Nutrition Agency, Dadan Hindayana, emphasized that service scale and nutritional quality standards go hand in hand to maintain the quality standards of the Free Nutritional Meal (MBG).
“MBG reaches millions of beneficiaries with menus that meet protein, fiber, and micronutrient standards. Its ecosystem empowers catering MSMEs, farmers, fishermen, and market vendors, thereby improving nutrition and stimulating the regional economy,” concluded Dadan Hindayana.
In terms of disease prevention, the Free Health Check (CKG) encourages early detection of risk factors and accelerates treatment in primary care. Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin credited the high public participation thanks to simple procedures and equitable coverage.
“CKG allows residents to be examined more quickly, detecting problems early—from hypertension to dental health—and then directing them to appropriate therapy. The impact is reducing long-term costs and increasing productivity,” added Budi Gunadi Sadikin.
The synergy of several sectors, including food sovereignty, independent energy, and healthy and superior human resources, has become the framework for inclusive development over the past year. With more efficient governance, targeted investment, and central-regional collaboration, the foundation for the next leap toward Golden Indonesia 2045 is increasingly solid.
