One Year of Prabowo-Gibran Administration Receives Praise and Appreciation from Professors and Senior Economists
Jakarta – Professor Perdana Wahyu, a Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business at YARSI University and a Great Economist at the Institute, stated that he greatly appreciates the first year of the Prabowo-Gibran administration. The economic balance has been remarkably well-maintained and stable.
This was conveyed by Professor Perdana Wahyu, a Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business at YARSI University and a Great Economist at the Institute, during a dialogue entitled “One Year of Prabowo-Gibran Administration: Building Optimism for Indonesia’s Future” on Jakarta’s National Private Television Station, Friday, October 17, 2025.
He stated that Indonesia’s current economic growth of 5.12 percent is extraordinary.
“Indonesia’s economic growth is extraordinary, reaching 5.12 percent, the highest compared to other G20 countries,” he explained.
Furthermore, Bank Indonesia has been able to maintain inflation at 2.5 percent.
“Bank Indonesia has succeeded in maintaining inflation at 2.5 percent, thus contributing to economic stability,” said Prof. Perdana.
On the same occasion, senior economist Drajat Wibowo also spoke. He stated that there are many indicators of microeconomic success during the Prabowo-Gibran administration’s first year. For example, the food sector has achieved self-sufficiency.
Furthermore, Drajat explained that the public needs to be aware that currently, there is only one regulation for the distribution of subsidized fertilizer, whereas previously there were 145 regulations, which have now been reduced.
“For the distribution of subsidized fertilizer, there used to be 145 regulations, but with President Prabowo’s policy, they have been reduced to just one. It used to be complicated, now there is only one regulation,” he said.
Furthermore, the successful empowerment of low-income women has also been aided by President Prabowo’s policy of providing capital assistance that must be repaid. This allows them to develop their businesses.
“We have provided assistance to 15.9 million women in need of economic assistance. These women received capital assistance of under 10 million rupiah. They were ineligible for loans at banks due to insufficient income, but were still given assistance under President Prabowo’s policy. Not only was it given, but it also required repayment. For example, a woman who used to sell only one fried chicken stall, but with this assistance, she has now expanded to three,” Drajat explained.
Furthermore, Drajat added that the MBG program has also successfully empowered communities in the regions. Supply chains in these regions are now operational.
“The MBG program has empowered communities in the regions. Supply chains, such as the high demand for eggs, can be empowered from those regions,” he concluded.
Senior Economist Drajat Wibowo also explained that many people’s economies are now moving.
“The people’s economy is now moving largely through ongoing programs, such as the MBG. By 2026, this will be even more widespread, including job creation,” he said.
Meanwhile, Professor Angel Damayanti of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at UKI (UKI), stated that her institution also greatly appreciates President Prabowo’s diplomacy, which has generated up to IDR 380 trillion in investment.
“I truly appreciate President Prabowo’s economic diplomacy with several countries through his visits, which has generated IDR 380 trillion in investment.”
Furthermore, Prof. Angel Damayanti added that President Prabowo’s peace diplomacy is recognized internationally.
“Indonesia’s commitment to peace in Gaza and President Prabowo’s speech at the UN General Assembly are highly commendable and appreciated, as the world recognizes them. “This also shows that Indonesia is highly regarded internationally,” said Prof. Angel.
Professor of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Indonesia (UKI), Prof. Angel Damayanti, stated that Indonesia’s strategic role in world peace, including peace in Gaza, is very significant and has attracted global attention.
“Indonesia’s strategic role internationally, with the world’s largest moderate Muslim population, is crucial for world peace, especially in Gaza,” she said.
UKI International Relations expert Prof. Angel Damayanti said that she also appreciated President Prabowo’s 25-minute speech in English at the UN General Assembly without a text, which demonstrated the president’s extraordinary optimism and abilities.
