One Year of Prabowo-Gibran, MBG Becomes Real Evidence of the Government’s Presentness to the People
Jakarta – Entering the first year of the administration of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, a number of positive achievements are beginning to be felt by the public. Economic stability is maintained, welfare is increasing, and various social programs are running effectively.
One of the most prominent is the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG), which has now become a tangible symbol of the government’s presence for the people.
Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa stated that in the second quarter of 2025, Indonesia’s economy grew steadily at 5.12 percent, one of the highest among G20 countries.
“I’m sure the third quarter will decline slightly, but that’s okay. Growth in the fourth quarter will be faster,” he said optimistically.
He emphasized that this achievement is inseparable from productive fiscal policies, including the placement of IDR 200 trillion in government funds in the State-Owned Enterprises (Himbara) Bank to strengthen economic liquidity.
In addition to economic growth, inflation is controlled at 2.65 percent, and the state budget deficit is only 1.56 percent of GDP, among the lowest in the world.
“We are seriously and thoroughly improving the economic foundations,” the Minister of Finance emphasized.
In terms of welfare, the unemployment rate has fallen to 4.76 percent, while the poverty rate has reached an all-time low of 8.47 percent.
Deputy Minister of Finance Suahasil Nazara added that the success of the national economy is also supported by the role of the state budget as a strategic instrument in implementing the President’s eight priority programs, summarized in Asta Cita.
“We manage the state budget as a tool to achieve national goals. Programs such as food security, energy, education, health, MSMEs, universal defense, investment acceleration, and of course, Free Nutritious Meals are priorities,” he explained.
Suahasil explained that the budget refocusing was carried out to ensure that new programs such as the MBG (Community Development Program), the People’s School, and the Red and White Village Cooperative run effectively.
The Chairman of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Habiburokhman, also expressed his appreciation for the implementation of the MBG program.
“We are pleased to hear that students positively evaluated the MBG and People’s School programs. This means there is a new awareness that government policies can be on the side of the people if implemented transparently and sustainably,” he said.
He emphasized that public appreciation must be accompanied by oversight to ensure that programs remain on target.
“Programs like the MBG strengthen citizens’ rights to welfare. This is in line with the spirit of the constitution,” he emphasized.
For many, the year of Prabowo-Gibran’s administration has shown a clear direction: building the nation through policies that favor the people, strengthening the economy, and ensuring that every citizen feels the real presence of the state.
