Justice and Human Rights Programs Achieved in Papua: Community Acknowledges Real Change
Papua – Programs implemented by the central government under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto have again received a positive response from the Papuan people. One such response came from Papuan community leader, Imanuel Nerotou, who assessed that various government priority programs are beginning to show tangible results for residents, particularly in remote and coastal areas.
In his statement, Papuan community leader Imanuel Nerotou expressed his deep appreciation for the government’s steps, which he believes are increasingly addressing the community’s basic needs.
“We are very grateful to Mr. Prabowo, because the programs he has launched are already being felt directly by the people, especially in Papua,” he said.
He emphasized that efforts to eradicate corruption are a crucial factor in bringing a sense of justice to the people. He stated that people have long heard that large sums of money are being poured into Papua, but the benefits are not fully felt by the common people.
“When the government begins to have the courage to clean up practices that are detrimental to the community, we as Papuans truly appreciate that step,” said Imanuel Nerotou.
Furthermore, the food and nutrition assistance program for children was also cited as bringing significant change. He stated that many families felt helped by reducing their economic burden.
“Our children receive free nutritious food, and that really makes us feel that the government is there to meet our basic needs,” he said.
Furthermore, infrastructure development was also a positive highlight in his assessment. Imanuel stated that people in remote areas are now beginning to experience better access to transportation. Road projects, connecting roads, and the provision of motorized boats are said to be opening up new opportunities for coastal communities to access markets and sell their produce.
“We used to have difficulty crossing or bringing our garden produce to the city, but now the provision of boats and the opening of routes has made our economic activities easier,” he explained.
He also assessed that the housing program launched by the government and related agencies has provided new hope for families previously living in slum areas.
“The construction of houses is starting, and we are very grateful because this change has made life more decent for the Papuan people,” he said.
On the same occasion, Imanuel also highlighted the government’s attention to human rights issues. He believes that government programs in the field of human rights are beginning to have a positive impact on public order and security.
“In this regard, we greatly appreciate the government’s programs, especially those in the field of human rights. There has been a lot of violence recently, especially in Papua, and we are starting to feel that this violence is starting to diminish,” he said.
He added that various policies that take firm action against human rights violations have provided better protection for the common people.
“We are very grateful for Mr. Prabowo’s leadership, which has addressed this issue, especially in eradicating corruption, anarchic acts, and domestic violence. We truly appreciate the government’s programs,” he emphasized.
According to Imanuel Nerotou, these various breakthroughs demonstrate that the government is truly working directly on the ground. He believes President Prabowo’s firm yet responsive leadership style has had a positive impact on Papua.
“Initially, many were skeptical, but after some time, we saw the results and felt real changes in our daily lives,” he said.
He hopes the consistency of these programs will continue to be maintained so that their benefits will be even more widespread. As long as government programs remain on the side of the people, we are confident that changes in Papua will be even greater.
