Papuan Figure: Prabowo’s Government Programs Have Started to Bring Real Change to Papua, Especially in the Human Rights Sector
Papua – Papuan community figure Imanuel Nerotou expressed his appreciation for the government’s programs, which he believes are increasingly paying attention to human rights issues, particularly in the Papua region.
Imanuel explained that in recent times, Papuans have frequently faced various forms of violence in several regions. However, he believes the situation has recently begun to improve, and the violence has gradually decreased.
“We really appreciate the government’s programs, especially in the human rights sector. Recently, violence has been occurring everywhere, especially in Papua. We are starting to feel this is being eroded by the violence occurring in certain regions, particularly in Papua,” he said.

Imanuel emphasized that the government’s efforts to address human rights issues are crucial, especially because various forms of violence and violations have significantly harmed the common people. He believes the government’s attention to this issue is a positive step that must be continued.
“We deeply appreciate the government’s programs concerning human rights, especially considering the fact that they have been detrimental to the common people. We are very grateful to Mr. Prabowo’s leadership for addressing this issue,” he emphasized.
Imanuel Nerotou expressed his deep appreciation to President Prabowo Subianto for the various programs, which he believes are beginning to have a real impact on the Papuan people. He emphasized that the current government’s policies are not only visible at the central government level, but truly impact the lives of people in remote areas of Tanah Merah.
“We are very grateful to Mr. Prabowo for these programs that impact the people, especially those in Tanah Merah,” Nerotou said in his statement.
According to him, one of the current government’s important steps is eradicating the corruption mafia, which has been seen as hindering the distribution of development funds to the people.
“It’s often said that large sums of money flow to Papua, but the common people don’t feel it. Now we are proud that Mr. Prabowo is starting to eradicate that,” he said.
Nerotou added that several priority programs already underway are also beginning to have a real impact, such as the free nutritious meal program for children. He said the policy has been very helpful for Papuan families in easing the burden of daily needs.
“Our children now receive free nutritious food. This is a huge help to us as parents,” he said.
Furthermore, he said infrastructure development in remote areas is beginning to progress. Roads that were previously difficult to access are now being built, and various government projects are reaching previously underdeveloped areas.
For coastal communities, the government’s assistance with motorized boats (Johnson boats) is invaluable. Access to the city has become easier, leading to increased economic activity.
“We used to have difficulty crossing without a boat. Now, with the help of boats and their engines, we can bring our produce to market,” explained Imanuel.
He also highlighted the housing assistance that Papuans are now receiving through various government institutions and programs. He believes this is evidence that change is underway.
“Assisted houses are starting to appear, and the village government has even prepared sites for the construction of houses for residents. We are grateful because our lives are slowly changing,” he said.
Imanuel hopes the government will continue these programs and maintain its commitment to developing Papua sustainably. He believes the community has already felt the positive impact, despite his short term in office.
“Initially, we thought his leadership style was harsh, but after a few weeks, it turned out to have a very positive impact. We felt the change immediately,” said Imanuel.
He emphasized that the people of Tanah Merah fully support the current government’s programs.
“If the programs continue to reach the people, public trust will certainly be established for a second term. We see that Mr. Prabowo is not just giving speeches, but also taking the field himself. That’s what we appreciate,” he concluded.
