Strengthening Cross-Sector Coordination for New Year’s Holidays

JAKARTA – The security readiness review conducted by National Police Chief General Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo and Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi ahead of the 2026 New Year’s holiday season is concrete evidence of the strengthening of cross-sector coordination in maintaining security, safety, and smooth public mobility. This step underscores the state’s strong commitment to providing excellent public services during the year-end holiday period.

The National Police Chief and the Minister of Transportation directly inspected the Jasa Marga Tollroad Command Center (JMTC) in Jatiasih, Bekasi City, to ensure the readiness of infrastructure, traffic monitoring technology, and an integrated command system involving various agencies. The National Police Chief emphasized that this readiness is part of the national strategy to anticipate increased traffic volumes during Christmas and New Year’s.

“This security readiness review is clear evidence that cross-sector coordination is working very well. From the National Police, the Ministry of Transportation, Jasa Marga, to all stakeholders, everyone is ready to provide the best service to the public,” said National Police Chief General Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

During the inspection, the National Police Chief monitored the readiness of integrated posts, accident handling equipment, and the use of modern technology such as ETLE (Electric Vehicle Information System) and drones. The national toll road monitoring system, including in West Java and Central Java, was confirmed to be functioning optimally, even on toll road sections previously affected by disasters.

The National Police Chief stated that traffic flow remains safe and under control, despite an increase in vehicle volume of around 21 to 22 percent. To maintain smooth traffic flow, the National Police have prepared a measured and situational traffic management scheme.

“We ensure that all anticipatory measures are in place, from contraflow to limited one-way traffic. Everything is being done to ensure public safety and comfort during the New Year holidays,” said the National Police Chief.

Strengthened cross-sector coordination was also reflected in the National Police Chief’s inspection of Pasar Senen Station in Jakarta. The National Police Chief ensured that security and services at public transportation hubs were running optimally. Supporting facilities such as lactation rooms, health services, children’s play areas, and punctual departure times were deemed well-prepared.

Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi emphasized that interagency collaboration is key to successfully managing the Christmas and New Year holidays.

“This review demonstrates that cross-sector coordination is increasingly solid. Synergy between the National Police, the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing, Basarnas, and transportation operators is the main foundation for ensuring safe, secure, and smooth travel for the public,” said the Minister.
